What a Preassembled Armory Delivers
Modular armories configured for munitions storage or classified information storage.
A Carolina Precast preassembled armory is a six-sided concrete vault (walls, floor, and roof) assembled at the factory and delivered as a single unit. It arrives ready to set in place, connect to power, and put into service.
The same vault serves two purposes: rated storage for weapons and ammunition, or rated storage for classified information and materials. It is the only preassembled modular armory building in the world with a GSA-approved rating under Federal Specification AA-V-2940.
Core Capabilities
- GSA-approved under Federal Specification AA-V-2940 for assembled armory vault systems
- Six-sided precast concrete construction, fully assembled before it leaves the plant
- Configured for munitions storage or classified information storage
- Insulated panel walls and integrated HVAC for climate-controlled storage in any environment
- Relocatable as a complete unit: lifted by crane and transported without disassembly
- Concrete construction with at least twice the usable life of comparable steel armories

Two Configurations, One Rated Vault
Every preassembled armory starts with the same GSA-approved concrete vault. What changes is how it is configured inside, based on what it will hold and the requirements of the agency responsible for it.
Munitions Storage
Configured as an armory, the unit provides rated storage for weapons and ammunition at military installations, forward locations, and law enforcement facilities. DoD Manual 5100.76 recognizes GSA-approved assembled armory vault systems built to AA-V-2940 as an approved storage method for sensitive conventional arms, including for exterior use, and for unit-level ammunition and explosives.
- Weapons and ammunition storage for military units and installations
- Tactical equipment and weapons rooms for police departments
- Interior layout configured to your storage plan, including caging where required
Classified Information Storage
Configured for classified storage, the same concrete vault provides a hardened, climate-controlled space for classified documents, equipment, and sensitive materials. Storage requirements for classified information are set by the responsible security authority, and our engineering team configures each unit to the requirements your program specifies.
- Secure storage for classified documents and materials
- Hardened storage for sensitive equipment
- Deployable classified storage where permanent construction is impractical

Where Preassembled Armories Are Used
Preassembled armories serve military, law enforcement, and government agencies that need rated storage without a new construction project. Because the unit arrives complete, it adds secure capacity to an installation without the schedule of a built-in-place armory or vault room.
Preassembled armories have been transported around the world as military weapons and ammunition storage, in conditions ranging from desert heat to cold, wet environments. When a mission moves, the armory can move with it.
Police departments use them to add tactical equipment and weapons rooms to existing stations without new construction. Government agencies use them for hardened classified storage that can be placed, and later relocated, as requirements change.
Compliance and Standards
Preassembled armories are built and tested to federal specifications, not generic construction benchmarks.
- GSA-approved under Federal Specification AA-V-2940, Vault System, Armory, Assembled
- UL testing completed as part of the GSA certification process
- Built to the storage structure requirements of DoD Manual 5100.76, Physical Security of Sensitive Conventional Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives
- Built to the storage structure requirements of Army Regulation 190-11
- Manufactured under a quality management system structured to meet PCI plant certification requirements
Why Concrete, Not Steel
Many modular armories on the market are built from steel. Ours are built from precast concrete, the same material used in rated vault construction, and the difference shows up over the life of the unit.
Advantages Over Steel
- Concrete continues to harden over the life of the unit, increasing intrusion resistance over time
- At least twice the usable life of comparable steel armories
- No rust or corrosion, even in cold, wet environments
- The same ease of deployment as steel units, with far fewer maintenance concerns
Built for Any Climate
- Insulated panel walls for consistent thermal performance
- Integrated HVAC maintains climate-controlled conditions for weapons, ammunition, and sensitive information
- Designed for desert, jungle, and arctic conditions

How We Deliver a Preassembled Armory
Every preassembled armory follows a four-stage process, from first consultation to a unit in service.
Configuration and Engineering

Factory Assembly

Each armory is manufactured and fully assembled at our Siler City, North Carolina facility under the same documented quality management system that governs our structural precast wall panels. The complete unit is inspected before it leaves the plant.

Frequently Asked Questions
For a detailed comparison of the two materials, see Precast Concrete vs. Steel for Secure Vault Construction.
A preassembled armory is a complete, factory-assembled unit rated as an assembled armory vault system. SecurCast is a precast wall panel system assembled on-site to build UL- and GSA-rated enclosures within or adjacent to a facility, including vault rooms and vault expansions. If your project calls for a standalone unit that arrives ready to use, a preassembled armory is the faster path. If it calls for a custom enclosure built into a facility, SecurCast is the better fit.
